GreenTop Vineyards

GreenTop Vineyards
Ron and Sally Shoulders
195 Flynn Rd.
Gallatin TN 37066

General Location: North of Nashville off I-65, Middle Tennessee.

GreenTop Vineyards was establish in 1997 by Ron and Sally Shoulders.  We started with 250 Niagara plants and 250 Catawba plants.

The Niagara plants are a very vigorous plant and fast-growing. They are a high-producing grape somewhere in the range of 5,000 lbs. a year.

There are also 250 Catawba grape plants. These grapes are pink in color and produce in a range of about 3,000 lbs. a year. The Catawba's are not as vigorous and are more timid to the weather. Insects affect them more than the other grapes in our vineyard.

In 1997, there were 300 Chambourcin's planted. The Chambourcin's are a French hybrid. These grapes are dark in color, almost black, and very vigorous in growth and production. They will average about 3,000 lbs. a year.

In 2001, we added 350 Seyval plants to our vineyard. These are a white grape and are also a French hybrid. They are a high-producing and a very vigorous grape.  These grapes will start producing for use in 2005.

All of the grapes that we have in our vineyard do well in our area.
